Slider Zippers: products
A slider zipper takes the effort out of opening and closing a pack. Instead of pressing two tracks together along the full width of the bag, the user moves a small slider from one end to the other. The slider closes or opens the zipper as it goes. That single smooth movement is why slider packs are popular for products that are opened again and again.
How a slider zipper works
The zipper profile has two interlocking tracks. The pouch maker seals the profile to the film, then fits a moulded slider over the tracks and adds end stops. The profile has to be made to tight tolerances so that the slider rides smoothly: if the profile is too loose the slider can fall off, and if it is too tight the pack becomes hard to open.
